Andoid doesnt start

Hello friends
Please help me
My Samsung Galaxy star doesnt boot up...
OS Jelly bean 4.1.2
I mean when i start it Samsung logo comes up and phone restarts again...
It doesnt navigate me to Home screen...
I want to reset it...
Please tell me how to do so?
Please tell me if i can backup my data or not?

Turn the phone off and remove the battery. Put the battery back in and hold down Volume Up Button + Home Button, whilst holding them, hold the power button.

A menu screen should appear, from there select Wipe Data/Factory Reset.

If you can't get the phone to boot to the OS, you won't be able to back anything up though, sorry.
