Help Andoid Google Hangouts

[Android Question]

Wife and I have S6 edge Samsungs and found hangouts is installed, so have been playing with the live video chat, sudden thought is this a chargable service ? ie a huge usage bill added to our monthly contract bills ?

No it is not, rest assured you will not be charged. That is a service provided and maintained by Google, your carrier isn't involved. The only way you could get charged is if you use up more mobile data than you have allotted, but that depends on your plan and how much you actually use it.

Messaging with the Hangouts app is free.
Voice calls to most of US and Canada is free. Otherwise, there is going to be a cost.

If you don't have a balance in your Hangouts account, I wouldn't worry. Because if you try to make a non-free call, it won't let you proceed.
