Android Phones Will Keep Getting Exploited, Researchers Say | PCWorld Business Center

Not fair!

That is why you should have a anti -virus software and spyware software on your andriod phones.

That article says android is vulnerable yet doesn't provide any facts, so I'll provide some

1. Android is Linux
2. There are no active Linux viruses and haven't been for years
3. There is no such thing as a secure operating system
4. Malicious apps have been found in the Apple app store
5. Android apps are sandboxed, I hear Apple will implement this soon
6. Open source software is more robust because anyone can audit the code and report problems
7. Closed source software suffers from limited eyes on the code, problems go unnoticed
8. Security by obscurity is never a good thing
9. A Linux environment is hostile to viruses and that won't change regardless of how popular the platform becomes
10. The weakest link in any OS is the user. There is no substitute for education.

I've been using computers for 30 years and have been using and developing for Linux for 12 years. That article sounds like FUD to me.

sounds to me that whoever wrote the article is a Apple Fanboy. In order to claim something they have to provide facts and proof of it. There are some apps on the market that can be downloaded that are malware, but as far as I know it was the only way to attack an android phone.

I'm not going to say much about the Iphones since I stopped following them when the 2nd one came around then the Ipad, But both phones are vulnerable to viruses. The user is mostly responsible if it gets infected or not, and have it probably maintained.
