Android 2.1 confirmed for the tattoo (ish)

ok...i rang them back after 2 hours...when nothing happened...and told them. The different orange techy guy said, "oh, let me ring htc and check" he comes back 5 mins later, "the update was only for the desire" muppets.
so after another 30 min argument that gmail, youtube, bluetooth etc should be on the phone, they said there was nothing they could do, and that because i bought an unbranded phone from phones4u, it wasnt their issue.
When I told him I had an orange branded phone, he then checked the IMEI number and agreed with me and proceeded to say "even though it is an orange branded phone, its phones4u's responsibility" wahey...back to square one. sorry for getting your hopes up people

I'm further to the upgrade of Android 1.6 on the HTC Tattoo....looking like a BIG no from HTC, see email reply below...

Unfortunately, there are no plans yet to upgrade the OS of the HTC Tattoo since the current hardware specification of the phone won

In answer to your first question regarding the update HTC can confirm there will not be any upgrades planned in the near future for the HTC Tattoo. Any changes may come through network providers in partnership with the software manufacturer.
In regards to the HTC website , we are in constant updating the information with new products.
