Root Android 2.3 rom on OG Droid

hey I have the 1st droid rooted running 2.2.1 and I was wondering if the are any roms that have 2.3 in them. not just llittle things, I mean like the whole firmware. and if so, what docent work in the rom like 3g or something like that. I already have bugless beast 0.6 with a little 2.3 in it but I want the whole firmware. thanks for letting me know anything.:(

And from looking at those thread/roms, I would still say 2.3 is not ready for prime time. ShadowRom, Sapphire, or Cyanogenmod are the ones to watch IMHO.

I don't know, Teddy, I'm willing to put good money on BlackDroid too, as he is VERY close to pushing out TheUltimateDroid Gingerbread 3.0. Just a few more tweaks... :)

The second link is a rebake of Cyanogen - tried it out last night, not half bad. I didn't play with it seriously, though, this was late at night.

I'm waiting for UD's release to see how it looks as well as seeing if anything breaks with my 130 apps. Going to try my apps on the second one tonight. Sometimes before or after the ball drops.

I did the same thing late last night. Tried out the Cyanogen one and not all my apps worked. Aside from that, I liked the looks of it a lot, including the built-in file manager and downloads directory. Everything ran smoothly but a handful of apps I use regularly.

Is that a Downloads directory or a downloads manager?

If it is just the dir, that's OK, but if it is a manager, meaning you can watch your DLs in RT, then that is super-fantabulous.

(My hobby - making up words that sound like Mr. Garrison from South park would say)

Hello again Chief. Again we meet.

As far as good money on BlackDroid, I guess I'll have to pay closer attention to the rescue squad section of DF to see the final results. Why? I've already seen enough there to form my own opinion.

BTW, I tried that same ROM with all my apps installed - Google Voice would not log in - a definite must have for me, as all my VMs are routed through GV, as well as 95% of my SMS. GV #Fail ==> no me usy GB on my phone.

For now.

I cant wait 'till I'm home so I can download some of these new ROMs coming out, I cant wait to see how the new 2.3 ROMs are coming alongg!

They look really nice, but functionality is still lacking to make them a daily use ROM.

Some of the options that are included, though - wow. Things like a super uber Power control bar, with options depending upon whether WiFi is on or not, if you're plugged in otr not, etc.

The ability to use sound / vibrate / silent independently again (and the ability to choose if you want other ways, like just sound (with vibrate always on) and silent, just sound and silent, just sound and vibrate....

It has a lot more backend changes in it than I expected. A lot. All the folks trolling the Google code report pages are in for a huge surprise - especially the ones acting like kids and saying things like "How long does it take to fix this it's been XXX days already! Google, you suck!"

I also like the dark look to it - much nicer than regular, although that may be because I ma using the GB based off of CM....

Finally, the one I tried seemed to have the older, pre-FroYo market in place - not sure what was up with that either. My guess is that the final GB will have the final set of new components and we're gonna be wowed even more.
