Android 3.0 only for tablets?

Hi all, I'm writing huge work about Android for school, and I will ask many questions in this forum, but fist of all. Is Android 3.0 only for tablets? I mean for first time it was announced as Tablet Only-OS. But is there any OFFICIAL release 3.0 for mobile devices??

3.0 is tablet only. 4.0 brings tablets and phones together.

Honeycomb is only a tablet specific OS , even though the smartphone version of the same is in the pipeline.
