Help Android 4.0 for Exhibit 2 4G

exhibit2

Lurker
Hey guys I have a quick question!! Is there any possible way to download and install 4.0 OS on my exhibit 2 4G??

& if not do you think Tmobile\google will release it to us?

T-Mobile and Samsung have said nothing so far about this phone getting the upgrade. Since it's a budget handset, it's possible they won't bother with an update.

I wouldn't worry too much even if you don't receive it though. I still haven't installed ICS on my Nexus S even though it's available.

Officially? You will have to wait until Tmobile released it. As of the moment Samsung is currently working on the ICS update for Galaxy S2 (if I remember correctly your phone is the Tmobile variant). Once that is finished, they will send it to Tmobile who will decide when they will release it to you. International and unbranded versions will get it before you do. Once its available, you will receive a notification, and you can download it direct to phone or via Samsung Kies program on PC.

Unofficially you can root it and flash a custom ICS ROM, but that would void warranty.

thank you guys! i have my exhibit 2 rooted already. whats the ics rom? and how to i go about getting it? and install it? and if i would lets say put the ics rom on my phone would i still be able to upgrade to the official ics os if they let us get it?

I tried a few of the ICS offerings on my EVO 4G and have to say - SLUGGISH at best. Many are overclocking to get the performance up to snuff, but the battery life falls to abysmal when they do it.

I'm betting there won't be an option for ICS given the limited availability of the device and the variants of the Galaxy W vs. the Exhibit II... But someone always seems to tinker with something...
