Android 4.0 voice to text

How good is the instant voice typing feature in this version of Android compared with the previous ones where it stopped listening after you paused. I have an Android device running on Froyo 2.2 and the voice to text ability is pretty poor. I was wondering if it really is that good on the GNEX as they make it out to be in the adverts. I've tried the Siri on the iPhone and thats quite good, how does it compare?

I haven't used this feature, as it's not something I particularly need. But Google is coming out with their version of Siri. The 'Google Assistant' will be available to all Android makes, models. Or, at least, probably 2.2 and later.

Do you know when this will come available? And where do you guys find these info. I just found out today about the "name change" for the the Android market - :)

Ah right but i don't see how anyone wouldn't need to input text lol. I mean is it sketchy in recognising the words, and do you have to say it so clearly like its not worth the effort using. I want to know about the current voice to text first, the upcoming Google Assistant could have rumoured features which currently aren't worth the research into

I saw it before in the newsfeed of the "Home" tab next to the Carriers, Phones, Tablets etc. banner.

The voice to text on my Nexus is pretty good. I do speak a bit more slowly and deliberately but it works well.

Bump, Anybody know? I saw a video on youtube with someone testing it out in a noisy environment and it kept typing "new york" over and over again.
