Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on U8665?

Hello.

Would it be possible to put Jelly Bean, ICS, or any newer Android system than 2.3.7 on the Fusion 2? I currently have CyanogenMod 7.2 installed on it, and I'd really like to have the latest Android system without actually paying a bunch of money for a new phone. Please say yes, and if you can, how do you do it?

We have ICS working, but you'll lose the 3G forever since the baseband isn't meant for our phone and when you flash it, it damages it. We also have Jelly Bean 4.1, but it has wake lock issues which we have to figure out.

We don't have the source for the phone, so it's pretty much trial and error for the people trying to give us a newer OS.

If you don't mind giving up the 3G data speeds, you can find tutorials, and the files you will need at Forums - Fusion 2 All Things Root

But its like Radiance says, this is a Forever thing, even if you swap back to what you're running now, the 3G will stay gone.

Yeah.. I didn't care either, I only use Wi-Fi. I prefer CM10 with Jellybean over ICS, but you should try both and see which one you prefer.

I installed jelly bean with cm10, and I love it so far. The only issue I've come across is that when you lock the phone, the screen doesnt seem to turn completely off. The screen's black, but there is still some light coming from it. Any ideas on how to fix it?

That info was at the bottom of the post. Known bugs. To turn it completely off, press the power button once, then when the screen is 'off' press the power button twice in a row. The screen will turn all the way off.
