Android 4.2's stock timer (clock) app doesn't save timers?

Can anyone confirm that the stock Clock app's Timer function does not save your timers? I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong here. You can go to the trouble of naming the timer and everything, but at some point after it's done, it just goes away?? It would be the perfect app if it saved them.

I have not used that, so I'm shooting from the hip a little here. Is it a countdown timer in the traditional sense, or more like an alarm clock? If it's the latter, couldn't you just replace it with an app? I know that the alarm clock app I use works if I give the phone a voice command, I just have to choose it over the stock app.
