Google just released Android 7.0 Nougat today to Nexus phones! :)

"Supported devices getting the OTA are the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G. No older Nexus devices are getting the official OTA"
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/08/22/android-7-0-nougat-rolling-nexus-devices-starting-today/

Will start being rolled out to other phones as carriers/manufacturers work on updates.

More info about Nougat:

"Introducing The New LG V20. The first new smartphone that comes with Android Nougat, right out of the box. Coming soon."

Why so fast, I think most of users didn't even know about the version 6.0 [emoji6]

I found a link to the update for the nexus 5x on another website. I won't be home to check it out for a few hours, anyone got it yet?

The 2013 Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 wont be getting Nougat, unfortunately official supports has to end sometime.

There might be some custom ROMs available soon though. :)

I updated last night and it worked fine. I did drop back to 6.0 this morning, ad away couldn't write the hosts file and I can't do ads

Thank you. That is one "gotcha"

"guys, to get adaway working on N you need to flash the systemless zip found in the adaway thread. did that through flashfire, and everything works as intended so far"

Stolen from XDA

Flash the zip from that thread with flashfire then install the app. That's how I got it working.

Now that I don't see ad's I really like the new version. The changes to the notification tray looks nice.
