Android 7

I think my Nexus 9 has 2gb ram and I have been running the preview since release and official release for a couple of weeks without issue. Should run sweet on the XPE.

Unfortunately, this is just another fluff article, zero verifiable references... Android Authority "suffers" from them from time to time.

TBH, Moto has said nothing... not a peep on Nougat for any device. We are assuming we will get it, but regardless of whether it's capable or not, Moto has shown in the recent past since being taken over by Lenovo that it really doesn't care about updates or supporting handsets that are clearly capable of OS updates. I own both a Moto G 2015 and a Moto X Pure edition, I honestly put the chances we will get Nougat officially at 50/50. If we do get it, I have to assume it will be more in the late November or early December time frame. I know a lot of Moto device owners in the development community, and there hasn't been a peep of a beta yet, which there typically is 45-60 days prior to roll-out of an update.

Hope the 3gb ram will be enough to run it well. I really like Marshmellow it has been my favorite firmware since 4.2.2

It should be just fine, the nexus 6 also has 3 GB of ram and a 32 bit CPU and well.. I think that phone runs nougat well even though it just got it :P

Point us, MXP should run nougat with no problems, it's basically a higher specced nexus 5x.

I'm rolling with N and I am on a Nexus 6 (the slightly older and more portly sister to the Moto X Pure) It's smokin. My Nexus likes it better than MM to be honest. Your 3GB will be fine.
