Root Android admirer new 2.3.6 update rom

This is the 2.3.6 update rom.
]This rom is not deodexed

What's. Inside...
All 2.3.4 tweaks in build props are working in the update
So I put all of those back into the update.
I enabled boot animations
I added poweron.wav (there was not one on the update
I changed shutdown.ogg
I installed my own shutdown animation
I changed default wallpaper to custom one
I replaced stock launcher with donutlauncher(not on market)
I updated to newest prl 3032
I installed beats
Themed in uot Kitchen(thanks uot)
Just delete the voltage control app.

Boot into recovery
Wipe data and cache
Toto mounts and storage wipe system and data
Go to install from SD and enter

Lol the 2.3.6 update cannot be overclocked so I see no reason for voltage control to be in it (800mhz stock on the 2.3.6 update) until someone else builds a kernel for it...
Nice rom btw good to see that someone is contributing to the community ....;)
 
Is this pre-rooted? I haven't been able to hold root for more than five minutes on the update especially when using TiBu

the root method for 2.3.6 isnt as stable as the one for 2.3.4, from what ive read you shouldn't use TiBu because that will cause you to lose root.

Yeah but what's weird though is i can use it on deigo's backup of 2.3.6 but when i root it myself i can't.
 
I REALLY like this theme on this rom, but I am unfamiliar with the new update, especially since there are the Metro update as well as a generic one. I am on nTelos so all of the previous roms I would just download, change the APN file out with one I customized, and then repacked and flashed and never had issues. If I do that with this rom, will it work out ok or is this ONLY for Metro? I am on CWM 5.0.2.8

Or, if someone can make this theme for OA2.3, that would be awesome :D

You may have to decompile and fix the apn settings in the mms.apk's mms-config.xml and maybe add some buiild.prop love for data access, but afaik your apn fix should work with the official update as well.

Its a shame that nobody is deodexing these roms -- its _really_ not hard to do..

id go to the 2.3.6 update but i hate the lockscreen lol and i dont particularly like the rooting method as one could lose it out of nowhere T_T i like rooting lol maybe in the future id do but i like how i am, plus i flash a rom everyonce in awhile

i think that Kagebeast and Killah were able to deodex the roms but they arent bootable for some reason. i think Killah said they need kernel work to boot up and they dont know that type of stuff

Yeah, the 2.2.1 app drawer is different, but I would like to use it, lol. I can probably do the APN setting work but if its going to require build.prop work, I think I will just pass, lol. Can I just flash this like any other rom with CWM 5.2.0.8?
 
I thought the donut launcher was a nice touch! I when I flash a rom
I like to see something different than the same stuff over and over.
Oh and your gonna have to flash it through 5.0.2.7 I tried to flash it through2.8 and got boot loop

Deodexing a rom requires no special kernel to run. 2 different entities. They probably arent repacking correctly, or have screwed up their updater-script.

no there is no lockscreen apk. some of this has been discussed cause people wanted the lockscreen of the 2.3.6 update on their roms but it involves going in deep and taking the appropriate files and then setting them up right on the rom. its not as easy as i make it sound to be, its complicated. maybe try an app within the market that changes the lockscreen? i dont know any but they exist

Try the Holo lockscreen. It's sweet....:D
 
I've flashed this rom and it has yet to reach the home screen... I can change the volume, but that is it at this point. Did I do something wrong?
