I'm reading from the 2011 version of Android Application Development for Dummies and I followed their steps to the letter (some things are outdated so I had to make changes) but now I'm at the step where it asks me to install the ADT with Eclipse.
They told me to go into Eclipse, then use Help and tell it that I want to "Install New Software..." After that, I entered in the URL that was gave to me by AADfD which is "https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse". Once I entered that into the box provided in Eclipse's Help's Install New Software...it provided me with 4 choices below "Developer Tools". AADfD only shows 2 choices under that being "Android DDMS" and "Android Development Tools", the other two not listed in the book are "Android Hierarchy Viewer" and "Android Traceview". I clicked on all to download and install to Eclipse but when I did that, it took forever and just stayed on a loading bar and didn't quit. Finally it said that it couldn't install the selected files. So I went ahead and selected one at a time and it installed the Android DDMS and now it's installing the Android Development Tools.
Should I proceed and install the other two options that are not listed in the book? What are those options for? Am I doing something wrong in my steps?
