Android alternatives for Windows applications?

I'm getting an android tablet and i was wondering what are some good android alternatives for the windows applications we know and love.

here are the apps that i need:

Microsoft Word,
Powerpoint,
and Publisher

Serif Drawplus

Serif Webplus

Windows Journal

Please help me with alternatives for the apps stated above, and then, if there are others you think people might need that i didnt mention, mention those!

Run your own Windows applications on your own desktop PC, at home or at the office, through your new shiny tablet with the free-for-personal-use Teamviewer remote desktop operation app on your phone and its companion Teamviewer application on your PC. Then you can do anything on your tablet that you can do if you sit in front of your PC!

No specialist apps necessary and a tonne of extra functionality for your phone!

that is so cool! the only problem is that i will be giving my laptop to my mom when i get the tablet and i dont have another pc. :( its a cool idea though!

So? Run 'm remotely on what is her laptop then! They're already humming on there, aren't they. Would your mom mind?

With Teamviewer you can also be her instant helpdesk/system administrator to iron out little problems with 'her' new laptop. Wherever you are! Even if you have only an Android phone or iPhone on you!

You won't have to jump into the car to your mom's to get her out of a jam anymore! Think of the time, gas, and traffic you can save yourself (and the environment)! Think of the much faster solutions you can provide your mom! She won't have to wait for you coming around anymore!

well... i dont think she'd mind, but she might be using it at the time that i need it as well.... i'll try that though, especially because i dont think she'll be using it very often when she first gets it. and that is a really good idea, because i know she always has trouble with technology! haha and she might even like it so that she can use her computer because she's more comfortable with windows than she is her new android phone, so maybe it would be good for her too! alright, well i found a microsoft office app, so i think with the app you recommended ill probobly do alright! thanks! if anyone knows of apps, i would still like to know though!

I think you will be disappointed if you think a tablet can replace your computer. A tablet's got half the CPU power, and a quarter of the storage capacity, if you're lucky, of the average laptop! With your tablet, for the next year or two, you will need her laptop. Just as much as she will need you to help her out with her laptop!

Consider that, generally, new owners of 'previously owned' gear tend to hold the former owners responsible for stuff that the new owner thinks go 'wrong' with their 'new' gear! Thus the onus will be on you to solve probs fast!
