Android and Swann security cams

Hello everyone, I couldn't find a forum search feature so I am posting my question here... Name is Michael and I hail from the Beautiful Pacific NW. Work in business management consulting.

My question is: has anyone had any luck getting their Android phone to work with the Swann security camera monitor system? I just bought a DVR-4 2550, everything else works great and I can get remote connectivity from a PC, however my Droid 2 won't talk. I am running Swannview (current release). I've NAT'd all the correct ports and done all the obvious stuff as I have a strong background in IT also.
Any takers? I would like to hear your experiences. Thanks in advance!

were you able to get everything working? I just got a swann system myself.

here's what's going on, any advise?

Trying to link my Swann video cams to my android. Im able view though my phone but only when on my router which the cams are connect to. I can't get any picture outside of my network. Same goes for viewing from a PC. I can view from all of my PC's in my house, but When I try to log in from work I can't get anything. Is there a setting on my router that needs to be changed?

Thanks
Joe

Does any one know what the difference is between the Swann SWDVR-89000H and the SWSVR-82900H Security system DVR's is? Each is a D1 recorder with a 1TB hard drive and supports up to 8 cameras.

Thanks

Same thing for me, great when on my network but nothing outside of the network. I read how to do it, you need a public DNS but it was much more than I want to tackle. I guess Support will help you but I'm sure it will be someone in India or the PI that almost speaks English and I am not ready for that frustration.
