android app for hotmail account

[Android Question]

I installed the outlook app for android on my phone for my hotmail account. My antivirus warned me that it was infected and that I should uninstall it. I am ready to delete my hotmail account since it was changed to outlook. Is there an app I should be using to actually see my emails in hotmail?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

You haven't said what phone you are using. However, as far as I know, all Android phones have a stock mail app to which you can add your email accounts including Hotmail. In fact the stock mail app on my HTC One only requires my Hotmail email address and password to be entered and will automatically pick up the correct server details.

Failing this you can also set up your gmail account to fetch your mail from your Hotmail account. You have to set it up using a PC/Laptop - in your gmail account go to Settings --> Accounts, click on Add a POP3 mail account that you own and provide the required details, usually just email address and password are sufficient.

Hope this helps.
