Android apps help

I recently purchaced a lg optimus v with virgin mobile and i can download apps just fine but only about 1 in 4 actually show up so i can drag it to my home the other do sucessfully download and show up in the manage apps option in setting but i cannot use them. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

If you go to the market and find the app, does it have an "open" option?

Widgets won't put an icon in the app drawer, FWIW.

Can you list a couple of the apps you installed that don't have icons in the app drawer?
