Android apps !

it depends on what info you are looking for as far as posts go. there are plenty of active forums here.

and yes lurker is the default title for newbies. the more you post, the sooner your title will change.
Thank you for clarifying, I got a system Android app question put it in Android apps.

This has got to be one of the best forums for Android, as there are so many different opinions and answers based upon individual experience.

Fairly rare is a standard 'textbook' answer.

I got started here because I was seeing quite a few questions being answered with the standard 'just do a factory reset'.

Well, that may or may not solve the issue- and definitely will not tell what what going wrong- leaving the very distinct possibility of the problem resurfacing and the user not knowing why.

Because I have no genuine way of doing a legitimate backup, I have never done a factory reset.
This has led to me actually having to figure out what is screwed up and how it got this way.

Maybe not the quickest way to learn, but it has tremendously expanded my troubleshooting capabilities.

And there are people here from all over the Earth, with all sorts of different devices, carriers, and experiences.

There are even off topic areas where we can discuss things not pertaining to Android, and direct messaging that is not viewable to the general population of the site.

These all combine to make this forum a unique and fun place to post, answer questions, and even vent sometimes.

And sometimes the company of where they are download, can make a huge error, like Phonax just mentioned in my fb inbox, it was their own fault for making a fluke of where I cannot simply rename them into my abiances, but I have an appoitment tomorrow.

Ok I hear you 100% I used to think a factory reset was the cure too bahaha.
Love to hear any extra trouble shooting ideas you might have for this particular one ?

Ok is it just me or are tons of the post here quite old ?
Also lol I'm a lurker ATM is that default in browser for newbies !

Well, since threads rarely if ever get deleted, there are always more old than new on the site.

The old ones serve as learning and answer tools to others that have the same problems, and also give us the opportunity to add any information that we can as time goes on.

I have found multiple threads that are years old that I went ahead and added to to be sure that anyone else that had the same issue would get more information.

It might be simple just can't for the life of me find it.
I reckon it's a app that's been downloaded had a permission which overided my setting in the Android system.
