Android apps

I am wondering if there is a way to transfer an app on my android phone to my pc. I know how to transfer files but, that is not the same as transferring an application. I think there might be an issue considering that the pc and the phone use different OS's. Unless Windows Easy Transfer will work. Please understand that I am not that tech savy, I grew up in the sixties and seventies when high-tech meant being able to program your VCR.

PS; you're just a "kid" if you think VCR references make you sound old. Why I remember when getting a UHF tuner for your B/W TV was all the rage, FM radio was considered radical, and DJ's played their own record choices on AM radio. Now that's old school.
