Android Auto - phone gets warm.

Installed Android Auto on my Vette and notice that the phone gets noticeably warm. You have to have the phone plugged into the car's USB port for Android Auto to function. Just wonder if anyone 's else is experiencing this?
 
Yeah, having to plug it in to the USB if you have bluetooth seems like old tech. I haven't found a data cable long enough for the V20 to get to the USB port without being in the way. I bought a long one at Fry's that said it was data and power but it doesn't bring up the connection options (file, midi, photo) on the phone when I use it to connect to my computer so I figure it won't work in the car either. My Note 4 didn't like Google and only used the setup through the USB. After that I had to touch the phone and yell at it to get any response.
