Help Android battery drain

Hi I have been using the htc vivid for a while. Over the last few months I have noticed a battery drop. I montered the battery in the android through that menu and it tells me that 90 to 95 percent of the battery is being eaten by the screen and nothing else. No apps and barely wifi. Is there a way to fix this or an app that can show more battery usage items? I have low brightness and turned off auto bright already any ideas? Thank u

I don't have a HTC, however I have notice that a weak signal will draw your battery. I suppose it using engery trying to stay connected. I had something similar to this the other day. I fairly new to modding phones, and was having second thoughts on my new rom flashes. ( I did it several times trying to fix issues). I was receiving google authentication failed error and it said make sure chat is enabled. I recalled being in that section the other day. Somehow I checked the Personalized recogition box and just exited out window. Then for days my battery was draining and I hardly had wifi or phone signal. It was all WHITE ALL THE TIME, reflecting a weak. I was only a few feet from my Modem, so I knew it was the phone. Went to work in the next town about 40 miles away. Still weak signal. THEN after hours of trying to resolve problem I hit the google talk app and check menu for settings. I unchecked the recogition box. Instantly it went green with the 3g status! I recheck the box to see if this was the problem, however it did not go back white. But it is FIXED Now. I know this sounds strange. But it won't hurt to try. I hope you find the problem! Let me know if this makes a different. It is really strange this was causing my problems. Good Luck!

Hard to say without us knowing how fast this drop is occuring. If I last day, I

I had the battery use issue with K9 mail. Tried K9, it's a nice app, but there was no way to tell it NEVER to poll for email. I prefer checking mail when I want to, not when some app thinks I should.

My Samsung galaxy pro battery is rubbish.

Poor signal conditions or high use can see it gone in a few hours. That's the stuff of my early mobile phone days when battery technology was with the dinosaurs.
We've returned to those dark days because the phone manufacturers thing slim is better than useful.
My obese Ivio pad runs a couple of days without a charge. I know which one I'd take with me on a long trip.
Perhaps they've seen too many anorexic supermodels and designed the phones around them. They're always tall and skinny too but, as a dirty old man, I'd only be interested if there wasn't a lass with some meat on her in the room.

Come on phone people.
Make a phone that we can use without carrying a portable charger or having to charge twice a day.

Fatter is fine.

If only we could find a full-proof solution to fix battery problems. It's sad that we have to turn off or disabled features that make these smartphones smart. I have found that three things that can result to battery consumption: 1. An application that is incompatible or has gone rogue; 2. A good battery that has gone bad and not keeping charge; 3. Too many applications, especially ones that runs in the background.

Anyway, I've moved your thread to area of discussion - with the hope that other members of this device might chime in with their two cents. Hopefully you'll find some way of getting beyond this vexatious problem. ツ

How about a phone that's about 1mm thicker so they can stick a reasonable battery in there?

It's this customer survey rubbish again.

Q - Do you want an ultra thin phone (neglecting to mention it'll be as useful as a chocolate fireguard in 6 hours unless you carry a charger).

A - Yes

This is a case of the manufacturers making a mistake.

This is answering everyone's replies without quoting everyone lol. It's an HTC vivid phone, the battery drains not so much quickly but constantly. It's like every activity takes a percent or two.I have brightness at 15% and juice defender did not help I also have a widget to show battery life. Thank u for moving the post I thought I did post it here sorry guess I wasn't paying too much attention. I have to use my phone all day my life revolves around it so idk how to use it less.

Btw I found these awesome cases with a battery in them that will give u two batteries for one phone. If anyone can find one for the vivid thatis not the size of a brick I would greatly appreciate it:) thanks for the input so far.
