Help Android box won't turn off

Hi folks,

Recently got down with the kids and purchased a android box, Droid player quad core MXQ on kit kat 4.4.2.

It's great however it will not turn off.

The box goes into standby. And unless I unplug it I can't turn it off which is playing havoc with the HDMI autoswitching.

Updated software and gone through every setting and am just considering throwing it out the window.

Any know how to sort this problem?

Cheers in advance

Cheers I was looking at this before and all switched to off. Won't for some reason let me switch them on. Google remote and remote control settings are off as well. Really annoyingood me.

My android box version is 4.4.2, and not able to be turned off by the remote control.
4.2 is no problem. It is not able CEC problem, Any idea what happen?

...however it will not turn off. The box goes into standby...

Think of the Android TV box as a phone and it will start to make sense.
There is no 'Power Off' button on your remote, just a 'Standby' button.
It doesn't matter what the button is called or what color it is, it's a STANDBY button.

For 'Power Off' you'll have to disconnect the box from the electricity.

I have another 4.2 version box may turn off by holding the power on/off from the remote control, recently bought a new one with different version may not turn off.

So I believe there might be some solution might solve this matter, and I am wondering how.

Yes, it's true that a few boxes do have an actual power button that you can press.
This is a real power button.
But most boxes do not have a power button and can only be set to 'Standby' using the remote.
There's no software fix for this.

Zidoo X6 Pro come with a widget may turn off the box. I need to find a similar widget. Do you know if there are such widgets? Thanks.
