Android calendar app not syncing with google calendar - help!

cleaning calendar storage and google calendar storage did not work for me,

My solution worked for me on samsung galaxy core prime aka android lolipop.
removeing google account and adding it again worked like a charm.

Other positive effect is that i got access to all non default google calendars
Just to let the world know all know

I too had the problem - turns out new calendars do not default to 'synch', so I had to manually turn it on, then synch it.

From the calendar app, go to 'settings' (under top left menu), you should see your new calendar on the list. Click it and the top line should say 'sync' - slide the slider to enable it, then go back to calendar, and on the top right menu select 'refresh'.

HTC have a sync problem now - when syncing with Outlook the phones calendar moves the appointment on by one day - lots of fun until you realise. Spoken to HTC who admit their technicians are working on it - so far all of January! A leap year problem apparently. Joke. Next phone will be a Samsung!

I think I have solved it - although I don't really like the solution!
I have been sitting at very low internal memory, as the apps I have have gradually increased in size. In order to install or update anything from the market I have to uninstall facebook, my largest app. So I did this to get the Synker app expalpo suggested, then I noticed my phone was syncing so let it finish and there was my calendar back! Now when I go into settings and press 'sync now', it actually does something, and I can see the wheels go round, whereas before it did nothing at all.

After a long (recent) battle with google account authentication, Google Play errors, etc etc, and after getting everything working again, i was (once more) facing problems with SYNC (google account). This time, there were NO ERRORS... just no reaction even with manual Sync...

The LOW MEMORY was exactly the problem! I still have an old Android 2.3 phone, and with Google Play Services installed (i had to install this again to get the phone working properly with google account - GOOGLE changed something recently...) the memory is CONSUMED with DATA (just for the Play Services there are almost 30mb of data).

Thanks for the tip!!!! I cleared up some memory (removed an app) and SYNC is back online!!!

Hi,

I have been having a problem with my phone not syncing with my google calendar. I add a new event on google calendar on my computer, and it does not update on the app, although it always used to. It has had plenty of time (24 hours +). I have tried Settings > Accounts&Sync > Google > Sync now, and in fact 'sync all', and nothing. No circular arrows on the bar at the top or any indication it's doing anything at all. I have tried 'sync now' in both the android calendar app and the business calendar app i use. When I go into my Mail app (non gmail) that will sync quite happily.

So to try and solve this I read some advice online which advised me to clear the data in 'Calendar storage'. So I did this and now I have no appointments whatsoever in my android calendar, and no way to sync with my google calendar to get them back! I've also lost my bank holidays that the app came with, but I can live with that.

Any suggestions gratefully received. I was so pleased to be able to sync my phone to my calendar and now it no longer works!

Phone: HTC Wildfire
Network: 3 mobile (UK)
Android version: 2.2.1

Anything else I can tell you please let me know.
I had the same problem and I deleted my gmail account and added it back and it worked!

Hi,

I've checked all power saving and other suggestions. They didn't help at all.
Finally I've removed and added again my google account on the phone. Sync works perfectly now.

FIXED!!!!!

My problem was that the Google App did not have permission to link to my Android calendar.

Fixed through:

1) Settings
2) Apps
3) Google App
4) Permissions
5) Turn calendar permissions on

Hopefully this helps.

Hello,
Syncing Gcalendar initially worked fine on the Samsung Agenda of my Samsung Galaxy 7. Recently I had to unisntall my google account, but when I reinstalled it, Samsung Agenda would not sync with my Gcalendar. In the settings>clouds and accounts>accounts>google the switch "synchronize agenda" did not appear. I looked for possible solutions on the internet & found nothing. I then did the following: install Google Agenda and there it was. My gcalendar was synced, not only in Google Agenda but also in Samsung Agenda!!!! TaTaTaTaaaaaaa. And in the settings, the switch for synchronizing agenda now appears. Wonder if a High Tech Wizz Person from google can explain this wonder?
Cheers

Well this is just a user forum, so there won't be any Google staff reading this to explain (or they keep quiet if they are).

Are you translating to English? Just wondering because I've never heard of "Google Agenda" or seen a "synchronise agenda" setting on any device, but if you are doing your own translation and saying "agenda" rather than "calendar" that would explain it.

Anyway I'm guessing that when you re-added your account you only had the Samsung app installed, and that didn't tell the system you wanted Google calendar sync and so no Google calendar account was added. Adding the Google calendar app then told the system that it should be syncing your Google calendar too, and so that part of your Google account was set up.
