Android checklist: How to minimize data transfers with data roaming ON
2 weeks of my next trip will be exploring with data roaming on. Here's a checklist I put together to follow so that I can use Google Maps, etc..
I'm an Android newbie, so please reply if I'm missing something!

1) To check data usage while on trip, reset data meter on first international day:
Settings, Data Usage, Data Usage Cycle
2) Set Blocking Mode on to block most data dates.
Add family to exceptions list:
Settings, Blocking Mode, ON
3) Reduce Google Play data pulls by:
Google Play, Menu option, Settings,
in "General" uncheck everything
Also remember to: Turn power saving mode on
Settings, Power saving mode
(Maybe...I bought 3 spare batteries @ 50% off so am less worried about that)
