again i'm not familiar with technology so i was wondering if anyone can recommend a great backup app. if i decide to upgrade my pantech burst os it said it will delete everything i have and it recommended me to get a backup app. i have games, pics, recorded audio and other apps and certain text that i absolutely do not want to lose so can anyone highly recommend an app for me? something that will b absolutely easy easy for me to figure out how to use and not screw my whole phone up please thank you :)

Titanium Backup or MyBackup Pro. You need to be rooted for a complete backup though. Sine stuff can't be backed up unless rooted.

As above but you can backup your pictures and videos to your computer.

Messages and contacts can be backed up to your Gmail account.

Apps are backed up to your Gmail account but not the data for those apps.

hey... I would like to recommend Backup Caretaker that creates the backup of SMS, MMS, Call logs, System settings, Contacts, alarms and custom dictionary. I used it for HTC and it worked well. You should give it a try.

If you don't want to root your phone (don't if you're not comfortable with the procedure!) here's another backup strategy in 3 easy steps:

1) Backup/sync to your Gmail account what will (Setting > Accounts and sync).
2) Make a backup data set on your SD card with free 'Backup Everything'.
3) Create .apk files of your installed apps (with e.g. Astro File Manager or Supermanager) on the SD card, and copy the contents of the SD card to your laptop or desktop machine's harddisk (a 'data dump') for safekeeping.

I do no. 2 once a week, and no. 3 once a month.

thank you all very much for the help but its to complicated for me so i'm sticking with android os i have thanks though :)

I use these apps before I start over:

AppMonster Pro Backup Restore to make SDKS of all installed apps on my SD

MyAppsList to have a text list of all those apps so I can double-check my work

The emails and photos and such already live on the SD or in the cloud, so they magically reappear when your new install is told who you are

I have decided I want to upgrade which I have another thread going for that.......but if my phone needs to be rooted to save my apps and their data I guess ill just lose my apps and data cuz I'm uncomfortable rooting my phone..ill mess somethings up
