Apps Android developer didn't come with all features

I downloaded android developer last night and started looking up some guides (I'm a beginner) and I noticed my developer looks nothing like what guides said it should look like. There is no virtual phone screen or options or really anything. Anyone know why or how I can fix this? Am I missing features?
