Apps Android Development Help

I've been wanting to get into Android Development for a while now and I started watching videos on YouTube about Java and such. Does anyone have any recommendations, tips, or tricks? I want to make sure I learn everything the right way so I don't "develop" any bad habits (see what I did there?).

Help/ Advice would really be appreciated.

Its great that you are interested!

Now the question is, have you learned Java? If not, you can find many free PDFs around the net, which are really well-explained.

Don't feel bad because you have to learn something to advance another, Java is really easy. You'll be creating Java programs from the start. It's very practical (Depends of course).

Now, if you do know java, you can just setup your IDE to develop for android (Search: setup Netbeans/Eclipse for Android Development) then go to: develop.android.com (I think). They have a Training for Android Dev. , Its really basically cool. ^-^

If your like under 18, (Like me, 16), And the chores and/or school kill your learning time, then maybe you will learn a bit slower than most but let me tell you what makes me stop learning,

1 - (And Most Depressing) Don't get any ideas of making a awesome looking app/game, cause you will end up getting sad and not wanting to learn anymore... (Happened to me/ results may vary by person)

2 - When in doubt, do not forget you can ask, if google betrays you. Errors can be quite annoying, but hey, thats what the internet is for.. right?

3 - Never expect someone will do a job/code for you. Not to mess your feelings, but you know.
