Android Dwell Keyboard

CAedge

Hi,

I have searched and cannot find an on screen keyboard that allows keys to be held down without a whole bunch of alternative characters being displayed and the key press stopping after a split second.
I use PH Reason music software over Steams live streaming app and would like to use the keyboard to play music notes which of course I can only do for a split second before the alt chars appear.
If anyone has an idea that would be great thanks.

You've got Reason running on an Android phone or tablet? I thought that was only for Windows or MacOS on computers?

The only times I've seen QWERTY keyboards been used to play notes in a music software is in GarageBand or Logic running on Macs, and Apple calls it "Musical Typing". Hold down a key and it sustains the note, just like using a music keyboard or a piano. I'm pretty sure that no Android keyboard apps were designed with that in mind. The only thing I can suggest is using a USB MIDI controller keyboard plugged into your device, that some Android music apps can use.

really? it is a huge platform that allows you to play pc games on pretty much any computer. maybe it is not allowed in China.

We do have Steam China, in Chinese and Chinese games only. If I try going to the international Steam site, it redirects me to Steam China site.

BTW I never saw anything of Google's Stadia for myself.

Indeed an external usb keyboard does allow the functionality but I want that onscreen so I can do everything without bulky peripherals being attached. Thanks for your replies so far.
