Apps Android Emulator running extremely slow?

I totally agree. I find it faster to plug in my phone, transfer the apk, unplug the phone, install the app and run it faster than the emulator is loaded and ready to go. Strange but true.

Any apk. This thread is about the android emulator is it not? I use the android emulator, or used to, to test my apps before publishing them.

When I first started developing the emulator ran slow, but now I just make sure that the only things that are running when I use it are only what is needed for Elipse and Windows. Though, I only use the emulator to test an app on all Android Versions
