Did a little research on this, as I saw a newscast report on this matter, so I will put this out there for you all to be your own judge. I'm just supplying info I researched, cheers

See video cast below first

Research I did, with mix reviews

From the story itself, their website,

http://www.snoopwall.com/threat-reports-10-01-2014/

App they developed,

We developed the SnoopWall Privacy Flashlight for Google Android, Apple iOS and Microsoft Windows smartphones and tablets. The file size of the SnoopWall Privacy Flashlight application is approximately 72 kilobytes. It only accesses the light of the webcam and the screen display which is all a flashlight app should be doing anyway. Get it today at: http://privacyflashlight.snoopwall.com

Ug. I hate how condescending they are; like we're all 5 year olds! "This is what a flashlight does" Ohhhhh Ahhhhhh. :goofydroid: But I digress..... I use the DroidLight made by Motorola and has zero permissions other than the obvious (camera).

I'm still using the Default Flashlight app widget that came with the Galaxy S5 phone.

Golly gee Ms. Molly, how involved does a Flashlight app need to be?
click, the light burns, click it is off. :D

For those who haven't experienced a phone without a flashlight, you'd be surprised at how hard it often is to find a simple, good one that works with the phone in question and doesn't involve invasive permissions.

Ask a ZTE owner just to name one example.

And my HTC flashlight is very cool. Had one before your Galaxy S existed.

But Android is a very big world and just because it's sunny for us doesn't mean that others aren't out in the cold, rainy weather.

This is good information for everyone - you never know when you'll find a friend in need. ;)

I've been in many threads where people were trying every flashlight they could find to get one that works.

How hard is it to isolate the flash and control it on some phones? A lot harder than you think.

And I think that the baby talk was an attempt to shame dishonest devs - but that's just like, my opinion man. :D
