Seems AF is now censored in the PRC, unless using a VPN. It should keep those Canadian university fake diploma spammers out.

I'll be honest, I thought it was blocked long before.
That's harsh. What did we do?
I probably got confused because you frequently mention using VPNs that I projected that to you always use a vpn.AF was always accessible from China until yesterday AFAICT. I believe the govt has been stepping up the Great FireWall because 4th June is 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Square and Tank Man.

@mikedt was not, Definitely Not. Tiananmen Tank man.
Well, he is posting here, so I think he's figured it out.China's tough policy
What prevents you from bypassing this prohibition using VPN?
Even the one that is built into the Opera browser
Damn...that couldn't possibly have been 30 years ago! It's so clear in my memory.4th June is 30th anniversary of Tiananmen Square and Tank Man.
This article about Tiananmen is very interesting, but one part stands out:Seems AF is now censored in the PRC, unless using a VPN.
Mike, is this permanent type block for AF, do you think?
Seems to be clear this morning. Can view AF without VPN. I'm not the only one, I'm sure there's many in China that have an interest in Android, do look at sites like AF, as well as XDA etc. There's a lot of Android development goes on in China, and may require access to international sites and information.
This article about Tiananmen is very interesting, but one part stands out:
"Beyond coded messages, there are also technological ways to circumvent the Great Firewall, with the most popular being virtual private networks (VPNs), which allow users to appear to be located outside China. But these are increasingly being shut down, with the government banning the illegal selling of VPN services and sending those defying its rules to jail."
I worry about you, @mikedt. I know you're smart and savvy and all that--but it's CHINA, you know?
Ty- for incentive for history lesson, I even had my kids sit & watch it. One thing I couldn't find.. Whatever DID happen to Tank Man?
