I've been having this issue so often lately that I copy my reply to clipboard before sending it (nothing worse than typing something twice).
If the reply fails to send (and gives me the popup about not having permission) I back out of the thread then go back in and paste my reply and then it sends.
This is another issue I need to get across to Steve Albright.
I'm in talks with him about the app on g+ justnow. It does a lot of funky stuff
