Android G-Box (Rooted) - with 3G & Skype support

Does anyone have a firmware (without support for 3G) of origin for the G-BOX?
In fact, all the firmware that I tested work ... but not 100%...
Let me explain, the menus they can no longer have different display resolution options, and with YouTube, the mouse is no longer visible while playing a video ...
Also, is it possible to extract an original firmware from a new G-BOX? How to do ?

WiFi problem is in market update. Uninstall market update/manage apll-market-update uninstall/Restart manualy your box and WiFi is ok.
 
Hi, i recently buy this tv-box, i tried to root but i cant.

I put the sd card with the file image.img and anything happened. Can you help me please?

I have solved the problem. you need a usb transfer cable and install the firmware with the program "RKBatchTool".

But the problem is that i cant root the tv box. When i put the firmware gived in this post, root checker said that the device dosent have proper root access

Hello,

I just got this box last week and am trying to root it like the tutorial here, but the box is not recognizing the update.img. The box is reading the sd, because when i go with a file explorer to it is see the img file. Anybody a idea?

I also tried to use the rkbatchtool 1.4 under windows 7, my computer is seeing a device with the name "rk2918 sdk", but when i try to install the drivers i get a code(10) error. Saying that the device cant start.

bus firmware of gbox work fine . but......

I've tried almost everything to root this device. Its really stubborn.
Androot, z4root, Superoneclick, Unlockroot. nothing works.

I wanna root it bad.

Make sure that's the correct device
The latest firmware is 8/21/12 Android 4.1 and is rooted already. Ran pretty good for me, even the XBMC and Netflix.

Hello
I tryed the 8/21/12 Android 4.1 firmware and when I put the SD card in the slot with the "image.img" show me this message "Invalid Firmware File. Do you want to delete it?" My G-box is the same of this "http://www.asiapads.com/userfiles/image/Android%20TV%20Box/ATV-S12/AP-ATV-ATVS12-(Int).jpg" but I have this problem for update it.
What can I do to install this firwmare "ICS 4.1? Help me please!

So I managed to customize this device to work a little faster and remove the bloatware. Below is what I did.


1. Downloaded firmware "G-BOX-201111 NEW Firmware(GTV564-GTV584).rar" from "http://www.dayflycn.com/Downloads.asp"
2. Downloaded "RK29xxImageTools_v2.1.zip" from "http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/19808-rk29xx-imagetools-v21/"
3. Unzip GBox firmware image in to same directory as RKimage tools and rename to wendal.img
4. Followed RKTools instuctions to unpack.
5. went to system/apps directory and fdeleted apps I didn't want following guides from "http://forums.androidcentral.com/optimus-v-rooting-roms-hacks/156703-guide-apks-their-purpose-safe-not-remove-big.html" and "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1897286".
6. Followed RKTools instuctions to re-pack.
7. copied wendal_new.img to formatted sdcard and renamed to update.img.
8. started gbax and waited untill booted.
9. Inserted SDcard and was promted to install update.

So the box now tells me its rooted. However if I uninstall a stock app it returns once I reboot. So I removed as many stock apps as possible in the image file using the procedure above and then just install the ones I want from the market or directly in file manager from the apk file.
 
When i try to upgrade my G-Box I from 2.3.1 to 4.0 i get a wrong message that "this is the wrong image file. Do you want to delete it?"
What can i do?
 
Good night! TV BOX bought MD-01ANDBOX and I'm having trouble with the Android 2.3 ROM that came installed! I wonder if you have a backup of this ROM with instructions for installation or, if possible, a choice of root to be able to regularize the device itself! All help is welcome. Thank you!
