android gingerbread tablet

i have the visual land tablet and i wanna root it so i can get access to the google play market place. is it all the same for rooting i have rooted my droid four using your root apk can i use that same one to root my tablet i really wanna update it to icecream sandwich or honey comb is that also possible? i am new to the tablet i assume it is the same i would just like a confirmation before i continue on my quest.

every android device has it's own unique root method, some are very similar like those for the bionic, d4, razr, etc. however, i doubt that anything designed to root a motorola phone would work on your tablet.
