Android Handsets with Physical Keyboard

Hi guys,Just looking for a recommendation really. My wife has finally managed to kill my old N95 by breaking the screen so I suggested she take my HTC Desire and I'd get another contract and pick another Android handset. Her response was that she just didn't like or get on with the touch screen interface and didn't want to take the time to figure it out. She said that she preferred the tactile response of physical keys. Now I automatically thought a Blackberry would be ideal but I can't stand them and having become a die hard Android fan don't want to have such heathen phones in my house lol so in an effort to graduate her onto better Android handsets I'd like one with a physical keyboard to keep her happy while giving the touchscreen an oppertunity to grow on her.My intial instinct was the G1 but want to know if there has been anything between that and now that can handle 2.2 or 2.3?
Sorry for the dodgy formatting giving you a huge paragraph my works network has disabled Java.

My first thought was the G1 too. :D You can get one at quite a cheap price on ebay. But yeah, it does seem a little old.

There's the HTC Desire Z. CPU is only 800 MHz, so it's not exactly top of the class, but it looks pretty solid to me. Comes with Froyo and Sense.

Then there's the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Pro, which looks like a cross breed between android and blackberry. Its not on the official website yet, so no words on when it's actually getting shipped.

There's also the old Motorola Milestone/Droid. It's about 2 years old. Still newer than the G1 though, with decent specs. It looks professional as well if that's what you are looking for.

LG also has some android phone with keyboards, but I don't like LG phones. :D

I'm sorry. This has nothing to do with what you need, but I just had to say that this quote made me lol irl.

Got my father's "heathen" phone out of the house, not it's time for my brother's to go ;) He's already considering android for his upgrade.

Well the result is in and she chose a.....SE Xperia X10 Mini Pro in Pink! And honestly I have to admit that while its only on 2.1 its pretty swish....
