Root Android ID

Is there any disadvantage to your android id changing. I've always restored the old with titanium backup when I first launch it. But this last time it messed up, and had to reflash, so now I can't get back to its original.
I do have a couple months old nandroid backup. If I were to restore that, boot titanium,tell it not to restore, then flash Rom, then tell titanium yes... This would in theory get me back to my original, no?

I think that should work as long as the partition where the android id is stored is one of the things you backed up.

The disadvantage to the id changing is that if you bought anything on google play store the licenses might be screwed up now because that is how a lot of apps tell what you bought.
