Help Android Lollipop battery issue

I currently have Android 5.0.2 on my Moto G 2014 edition. When I got the Lollipop update (on the 20th) I started noticing battery issues, despite the proclaimed "Project Volta" I had heard so much about -- so I googled it. Following some tips online I factory data reset my phone and have avoided using apps which aren't necessarily compatible for Lollipop, but the problem still continues.

My battery drain is worrying, sometimes I lose 2% in around 2-3 minutes just by changing songs and not doing anything else and I'm starting to get frustrated. Sometimes my battery lasts a long time, and others it drains really quickly. For example, earlier today from 30%-40% the battery lasted a long time, each individual percentage was a joy, and then I hit 29% and everything failed. I don't know what's happening and I was wondering if anyone had any tips or help?

My settings:

Adaptive brightness, with it set to half as a default, I keep open tabs to a medium and generally only message people, I have no WiFi on, no location, no Bluetooth and my data connection is almost always strong. I usually have aeroplane mode on when I'm not expecting any conversations on social media.
