Hey so I just stumbled across this app for if you loose your phone, just like all of the others it offers the ability to find the location of a phone with enabled gps and wifi.
However unlike many free apps it also offers the ability to lock and wipe your phone. And what's more you can remotely install it, and control it via sms or an online interface...
Thing is this all sounds too good to be true for a free app, and I was wondering if anybody had used it and could reassure me as to its authenticity!
It's called "Android Lost" and heres the link: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androidlost
I don't think it's possible to remotely install an app.
Sure you can. If you go to the Android Market website on your PC (market.android.com), you can sign in, pick an app to install, and have it sent to your phone and it will install remotely. Did this many times with my Droid X when it was running Froyo, and just verified that it still works with Gingerbread.
