Help Android Market apps availability

Hello! I am considering buying the galaxy 3 phone.Before I decide I have two questions regarding this phone:
1. Because the 400x240 resolution is not used by many android phones, what is the number of available apps available on android market. Do you have problems installing most applications due to this?
2. Is 256mb ram enough for simulataneous use of a moderate number of apps (ex. broswer, plus music player plus widgets).

I don't know how many, but there are literally hundreds of apps. So far (3 weeks) no probs in installing/uninstalling apps.

Memory is enough for what you want.
