Help Android Market/Google checkout issue

I'm in the UK and tried to buy some apps for the first time today, when registering a card I tried debit card and amex credit card but both times I got server error retry or cancel.

Is this a google checkout issue or am I missing something I need to do first?

I had the same problem last week. If you sign in to your google account and go the the Checkout part of it and register your card there the market will automatically pick up those details entered when you go back to purchase your app.

I tried to update my google checkout credit card - it came back saying page could not be found!?

Most have issues on the phone. Input them on a PC and you should be fine.
