Android Market

I'm a newbie to Android and keep seeing references to The Android Market. Can someone please give me a 'dummy' rundown on this, please?

The Android Market is where most of the Android Apps are located.

It's actually called Google Play now. But most android devices come with an app on their devices that links them to the market, so they can browse for apps to download.

There are other markets but Android Market is the largest.

I do appreciate this - thanks a million.
