Help Android Maxx 2 power button issue

My phone keeps turning off in my pocket. The phone is locked and can be turned off by holding the power button or pressing the power button and pushing power off, all while the the phone is locked. I'd there a way to turn this off?

Probably not. If a phone doesn't have a removable battery the only way to restart it if it is really locked up is to press the power button until it shuts down. So that feature is there for a purpose, and it's wired in at a level below the Android operating system. I don't know anything that will stop it.

So I think you are left with figuring out why the button keeps being held down like this and changing whatever that is.
