"Android Media Process" hogging CPU

AbcRndm

Lurker
My battery life was bad, and Watchdog Lite tells me that android media process is using 70+% of my CPU constantly. Turning the phone on and off did not help. I would love to just kill this process (i don't even use the stock media player), but it always comes back.

any advice?

Device: Samsung Intercept
Carrier: Virgin Mobile (Sprint network)
Android 2.1

Welcome to the forums.

An app is likely turning that process on.

I'd go through all media apps and make sure nothing is running in the background by just using the force stop feature in application manager.

I'd also go into running services there and stop media related services.

Then reboot.
