Android n00b help, pretty please...

Mykee x

Lurker
I been with apple for 4 years but ive been given an android phone, desire c, for free. besides the battery life, if find this phone quite terrible and hard/impossible to do the simplest things.

But my problem at the moment is that im having trouble managing my phone contacts, for a start there's no contacts app or menu, only 'people' which is ******ed. I saved numbers but some dont appear in the phonebook under 'people' yet the names of the contacts still appear in my texts and my recent calls but i cant go onto 'people' and find these contacts. so basically if i delete their text thread or delete recent calls I'd never find their number in my phone, yet some of the contacts i saved do actually appear in the phone book. What the **** is going on and how do i fix it so all of my contacts appear in the phone book.

also how do i remove my facebook, hotmail, gmail etc contacts from my phonebook? because its added 1000+ contacts im never gunna call.

thanks

Got to Settings > Accounts & Sync > Uncheck your Facebook, Hotmail, Gmail, etc. You can even remove those accounts from your accounts & sync.

The Desire C is a mid range Android phone. The main reason why Apple don't do mid range is because it leaves you with worse experience of the OS as compared to higher end phones. Basically moving from an iPhone 4S to a Desire C similar to moving from the 4S to an iPhone 3G, or maybe 3GS.

Doing what Metroid Prime suggested will unsync facebook with your existing contacts as well, removing their profile pictures and stuff. I would suggest going to People>Menu>Settings>Display>And uncheck Facebook, Twitter, etc from there. That would keep the contacts synced but remove the unnecessary ones.
