The Built in Android Navigation bar Can be Enabled using pimp my ROM.

I used it and it works fine just a little lag (unnoticeable).

It makes no sense keeping it if we have the hardware buttons lol.

You could also enable the soft keys through build.prop editing with:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
