Hi guys,
Yesterday I ordered my first Android phone, a Samsung Captivate, and I expect to get it by Monday. So far I've only had Blackberries and I can't wait to get rid of it. Don't get me wrong, I used to love my Blackberry... back in 2004, but they fell behind the times, so it's time to move on. Besides, my old company forced me to keep one, now I don't work for them anymore so I can move on to better things.
I didn't get the phone yet but I'm already researching how to root it, unlock it and flash a new ROM. So... here are a few questions...
1. I keep hearing about the risk of "bricking" the phone while rooting it, but I've still to read about someone who had this problem. Is this a true risk, even if I work carefully?
2. What ROM version would you recommend to get the most of the whole Android experience?
3. I need some sort of case or cover, otherwise the phone would get all scratched in my pockets. Any recommendations? Low bulk is ideal
4. Are there other accessories that you consider indispensable?
