Hi all. I'm brand new to the Droid family and having some problems finding the right way to set it up and not recharge my battery hourly. Ok, I probably downloaded way too many apps from the Market, but its hard to really assess what to pull down and what to ignore.

I really want a good power/battery management tool, and need to know what apps/services I should leave running and what to shut down.

What is the best way to get Droid Smart quickly? I have a HTC Incredible.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Thanks for the post, and welcome to Android Forums!

In my opinion, to learn fastest, check out the phone-specific part of the forums to talk with other people with the same phone. Ask questions/post answers/anything to do with your phone!

Welcome to the Android Forums!

One of the challenges with the DINC is it's relatively short battery life. This can easily be improved with the installation of an extended battery. Also, you can delete unused widgets on any of it's home screens, dim the brightness of the screen, and adjust the battery profile to furth improve battery life.
