Android Newbie

Just another newbie here. Got a generic tablet for Christmas and am now fascinated by it. Wanting to learn as much as possible about the Android system, how to tweak it, and possibly even become a "hobbyist" developer. Would appreciate suggestions on where to start. Thanks!
