Android Not Visible in Windows Explorer

My android is successfully connected to my wireless home network, however, I cannot get it to be visible in Computer or Windows Explorer.

What setting am I missing, if any? Do I need an app to make this happen?

To access your phone in this manner would likely require some sort of SMB client installed on the phone.

He is correct, or if you are using this connection only for mere transfer of pics or docs, I would suggest using something like dropbox so you have the availability to access any of this stuff from where ever you are.
